Moving

Monday, June 28th, 2010

Still not much to report.

Instead of working on my 3D recently I’ve been moving flat because the landlord sold the place I was living in.

We now have a new place, and we have done most of the moving. I now have muscles which ache which I didn’t even know I actually had.

I even skipped class this morning as I was so had-it once I finished. Also everything is a mess, and I have no idea where my tablet, my notes, or my portable hard drive with my work is. It won’t be far, plus I have backups, but put all those factors together, and when my alarm went off this morning, I kind of laughed and went back to sleep.

On Wednesday, the tutor is hoping to see a one paragraph description of what my project is going to be for next term (this term finishes this Friday).

The paragraph doesn’t have to be submitted until the second week of next term, so this is just a ‘how does this sound’ kind of meeting.

Either way, maybe a post in a few days, and if not, I will try to post another animation idea from my list.

Cheers.

Walking into a Concrete Beam

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Walking into a concrete beam may look funny in a cartoon, maybe I’ll do it one day, but actually dong it is really painful.

The reason I bring up this strange topic is that its a large part of the reason I haven’t done any work this weekend, and probably won’t today either.

To tell the truth, Saturday I did nothing for the good old tried and true reason, which is I’m lazy I guess. But on Sunday, about lunchtime, while showing the Real Estate agent our basement (my landlord is selling the flat on me, so I need to move sooner or latter), I turned, and without looking, walked out the door, straight into the low hanging beam.

Well after not feeling very well for the afternoon, I eventually went down to the Doctors at A&E, and they said I probably suffered a mild concusion. They did soem checks, you know, eye diliation, hand/eye cordination, vision, etc, and weren’t to worried, but advised using a bunch of painkillers for a few days until it stops hurting, but to return to them the next day if I’m still dizzy or if my vision is still out.

Well everything is normal apart from the headaces now, but I skipped class, as three hours of stearing at a screen with a sore head didn’t seem very appealing. Probably won’t do much here at home either. I may log onto the site and post a story idea I have sitting on my phone. When ever I come up with a little idea for a animation or something, I save it on my phone, so I have a few which I suppose I should share with the site.

Have a good day, and unless you are a cartoon, don’t walk into beams 🙂

Rigging

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Nothing interesting to report today, but I decided I would anyhow (sorry).

I spent a few hours watching some videos on basic rigging (in Maya), even though I’m not really ready for that yet. Tutor jsut thought it would be good to get my mind off of modeling for a short time as it is causing me so many headaches.

While I will probably have to watch the videos again before I actually try anything serious, it was interesting, and a break from my dino, which looks like a hippo. What did I pick up? Well there is a lot to it, if the bones are straight IK won’t know which way to go, and natuarally they aren’t real bones, so don’t put them all in. I suspect it will come a lot more clearer when I finish the videos and maybe give it a quick try.

Hello world!

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

This is supposed to be my first post.

I should say something interesting about myself and explain the purpose of my site, but when it comes down to it, I spent a little time (maybe not as much as I should have) creating an About page. So rather than go over all of this again, please visit my about page.

Thank you.
